Fixed Braces

Fixed braces are the most common braces you will see people wearing and they are designed to straighten your teeth. They are a type of brace which is glued to your teeth and patients can not remove them. A fixed brace is made up of small metal or ceramic squares (brackets) which are linked together by a wire running through the middle of them. These braces usually take 18-24 months to straighten your teeth and will need adjusting by your orthodontist every 6-8 weeks. Once your teeth are straight your orthodontist will remove the braces for you and fit a retainer.
